Character Profile #1: Nat Jackson

The hardboiled cowboy of the crew, Nat’s background is as a hired gun working for various gangs and corporations during the war. Doc, having worked some jobs with him in the past, held Nat’s toughness and skill with a sidearm in the highest regard – tracking him down after the war and offering him permanent employment as a runner at the Pie Hole. Nat is a man of simple pleasures, enjoying cheap beer and cheaper cigars. He is as tough as they come but not without a biting sense of humor – even in the face of heinous danger and impending doom.

Sex, Lies and Pizza Pies

Hey, kids! Welcome to the Jungle! This is Mike L. Kinshella, the writer of Octane Jungle. Morgan (the Walter Becker to my Donald Fagen) will be joining us soon with all sorts of insight into his totally rad character designs and methods as well as supercool bonus material - so keep your eyeballs glued right here!

Octane Jungle was born out of combining two ideas that had been kicking around in my head for years. The first being an animated show that Morgan and I pitched to the Cartoon Network (albeit unsuccessfully) back in 2001 (or maybe 2002. That was a long time ago!) and the second being a vague idea for the whole black market pizza delivery thing (which was, in turn inspired by a buddy telling me about the book SNOW CRASH – as one Zuda reader already pointed out - and my personal experience as a pizza man). Hopefully we can dig up the original trailer that Morgan did for the aforementioned show and post it here! Or at least some pictures of me in my Steve's Pizza uniform. At any rate, there will be further discussion of the inspiration, development and themes behind O.J. as well as a smattering of fun material that will serve as a companion to the comic itself (such as character profiles, exclusive uncensored strips and more).
